Call for Art & Writing Submissions: Resona
Creative Nonfiction, Essays, Short Fiction,
Poetry, Hybrid Work
Resona is a carefully curated, print-forward, heirloom-quality magazine rooted in the quiet but powerful “yes” of Mary—a publication that invites readers into a deeper encounter with beauty, truth, and the living faith woven into everyday life. Born from the same spirit as Paloma & Fig’s
A Resounding Yes! podcast, Resona is shaped by a posture of attentive listening, courageous assent, and faithful presence. Within its pages, readers will encounter thoughtful long-form essays, intimate interviews, original artwork, poetry, and stories that illuminate the richness of Catholic life, from the hidden work of local communities to the broader movements shaping the Church.
More than a publication, Resona is an invitation: to slow down, to notice, and to meet God in the ordinary. Anchored in both tradition and creative renewal, it offers a space for contemplation and inspiration—where beauty is not ornamental but essential, where storytelling becomes a form of evangelization, and where each page gently echoes the call to live with greater intention, wonder, and faith.
We are seeking contributions of original writing that reflect this Marian posture of attention, receptivity, and faithful making. Creative nonfiction, essays, poetry, short fiction, and hybrid work are all welcome. We are also open to works of translation as long as you have permission from the original work’s copyright holder.
Resona pays contributors $100 per piece of writing, regardless of genre. To submit, please email the following to Franci Revel Eckensberger at editor@palomaandfig.com by April 25.
- A brief cover letter and bio
- Prose: up to 3 double-spaced prose pieces of ~1,200-2,000 words,
12-point font, 1″ margins OR a detailed pitch. Short fiction may be longer; all length requirements are negotiable with editor.
- Poetry: up to 3 poems, 12-point font. Please no center justification.
Artwork: All Mediums
Artwork of all mediums is welcome. We’re looking for artists whose work embodies depth, reverence, and creative excellence. Art may be figurative or abstract, but should evoke meaning, contemplation, and narrative. Faith-inspired work is welcome, though submissions need not be overtly religious—beauty, truth, and humanity are our guideposts.
We welcome submissions from artists working in illustration, painting, mixed media, digital fine art, hand-drawn or typographic concepts, and conceptual or symbolic artwork/iconography.
Selected artwork will be featured as full cover art, and artists will receive credit inside the magazine and online. Artists will also be given a feature or interview in our pages.
This is a paid or honorarium-based opportunity. To submit, please send the following to Christina Sabo at christina@palomaandfig.com by April 25.
